Cristhian Mosquera in the top five U-23 central defenders with the highest percentage of ground duels won in the big five leagues
ValenciaCF center-back ranks fifth with 75.6% success rate
Valencia CF defender Cristhian Mosquera enters the 'top 5' of U-23 center backs with the highest percentage of duels won (excluding aerial duels) in the big five leagues.
According to the latest report by CIES Football Observatory, a prestigious international website specialized in football data, Mosquera has a percentage of ground duels won -understood as any duel for possession of the ball in which a player wins the ball and which is not considered an aerial duel- of 75.6%.
In the 'top 10' of the ranking are: Jarrel Quansah (1st position with 78.6%), Chadi Riad (2nd place with 77.7%), Étienne Kinkoué (3rd position with 76.3%), Jarrad Branthwaite (4th place with 76%), Cristhian Mosquera (5th position with 75, 6%), Mika Mármol (6th place with 73.6), Chrislain Matsima (7th position with 72.1%), Castello Lukeba (8th place with 71.8%), Leny Yoro and Pau Cubarsí (9th position with 70.8%).
It should be noted that the Valencian player has accumulated numerous nominations for awards such as being the best U-23 player of the month of April of LALIGA EA Sports 23-24, the Golden Boy -award that distinguishes the best U-21 player in Europe- and the 2024 Football Draft Awards, which recognizes the best Spanish youth players.
